Climate Climate

Rain forests are very interesting and diverse areas.
The climate supports this diversity. Since the rainforests
around the world are all located relatively near the
equator, their temperatures are very warm. Because the
rain forests are all located relatively near the equator,
the sun shines more directly onto the land and water,
causing the high temperatures. Also, the water is more
quickly evaporated so the rain falls on the forests
more often than in other parts of the world. Rain
forests receive large amounts of rain throughout the year,
about 80 inches (250 cm) per year on average!
